Expand and strengthen the capacity of existing volunteer water monitoring programs and support development of new groups.
In the United States alone, there are approximately 1700 volunteer water monitoring programs operating, and that’s likely still not enough! But who coordinates them? The USA Water Monitoring Network shares resources among these programs, helps coordinate tips for successful managing, and helps connect water projects through their network. It even helps people looking for work in water-related positions find a job in the volunteer monitoring, citizen science, and outreach fields. The Network develops outreach materials for their National Facilitation Project, and provide links to these materials to share with other organizations. Feel free to have a look!
