Understand and address the problem of Asian tiger mosquitoes in Baltimore, Maryland.

If you live in, or plan on visiting, the Baltimore, Maryland area, this citizen science project is for you! Mosquito Stoppers seeks to address the Asian (or “Tiger”) mosquito problem in Baltimore by having you collect data around your yard, home, and neighborhood throughout the summer. Scientists will use this data to create a picture of the range of the mosquito problem, the extent to which community members feel affected by this problem, and the ecological dynamics of these invasive mosquitoes in Baltimore. As shown in Barcelona, Spain in C&C program 3, this information can be used to inform control agencies and policy makers, so that they can stop the spread of mosquitoes and mosquito-borne diseases.
