GOAL:

Study of wildlife migration and seasonal change through field observation.

While you’re still wishing you could journey south for the winter (assuming you live in North America, and not south of the Equator, in which case you might want to travel North!), migrating wildlife are-indeed-beginning to make the journey back north. Be part of a long-standing and very successful global study of wildlife migration and seasonal change by joining the Journey North project. Simply record your observations of migrating wildlife and share it with other participants across North America. When the end of winter is near, track the coming of spring through the migrations of monarch butterflies, robins and hummingbirds, the budding of plants, and changing day length. You can even predict when plants will emerge and bloom with the Journey North project, Tulip Test Gardens. There are weekly news updates, migration maps, photos, video clips, live cams, lessons, and other resources to help you collect data and learn from it. Journey North is the perfect excuse to get outdoors after a long winter stuck inside!
