Nama Budhathoki
BIO

Nama Budhathoki is Executive Director and Founder of Kathmandu Living Labs, a non-profit civic technology innovation group in Nepal. Nama’s focus is on using emerging technologies to solve pressing problems in society. He specializes in open data and crowdsourced mapping. Nama has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and a Master of Science in Geographic Information Science and Technology. He earned his Doctorate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with focus on Crowdsourcing, Online Communities, and Open Data. Nama has experience working for government, non-profit and academic sectors. Prior to establishing Kathmandu Living Labs, Nama worked as a consultant at the World Bank. His favorite thing about mapping is engaging young people and harnessing their local knowledge.
