Kerissa Battle
BIO

Kerissa is the Founding Director and President of Community Greenways Collaborative (CGC), an organization that strives to build community networks through citizen science and education. Among the citizen science projects founded by the CGC, Kerissa is Project Manager for the New York Phenology Network, featured in Episode 4 of CROWD & CLOUD. She is a social entrepreneur, organizational consultant and research ecologist whose work is focused on catalyzing networks and building capacity for leadership, education, community science and ecological monitoring. Kerissa is an Environmental Science and Resources PhD candidate, has a Master of Science in Biology, Ecology and Environmental Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in Conservation Biology. As a founder of research-based citizen science initiatives, Kerissa has developed, evaluated and implemented science, environmental and teacher training programs in multiple university, K-12 and not-for-profit settings.
