Jane is the Regional Designer for the African division of Medic Mobile, working in Nairobi, Kenya. She began as a Field Manager with Medic Mobile, which motivated her passion for public health. Even before starting with them, she was already involved in the prevention of diseases through health promotion. Jane received a Bachelor of Nursing degree and a Master’s degree in Public Health, and has worked in the health industry since then. She was inspired to join Medic Mobile when she saw a seminar explaining how they were using technology to create an impact in underserved communities. Her role at Medic Mobile is to apply her expertise in health to help create simple, user-friendly systems that prevent diseases using appropriate technology and software. She is also responsible for recruiting community health volunteers (whom she regards as true heroes and heroines) and who empower the community to take responsibility for their health.
