Frederic Bartumeus
BIO

Frederic is the Project Director for Mosquito Alert, a Researcher at CREAF (founding organization of Mosquito Alert), and an ICREA Research Professor in Computational and Theoretical Ecology at the Centre for Advanced Studies of Blanes, Spain. With a Master of Science in Plankton Ecology, and a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Barcelona, in Catalonia, Frederic develops animal search theory. In 2006, he joined the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Princeton University, to study the stochastic modeling of animal movement and dispersal. Back in Spain, Frederic completed postdoctoral research on vector-borne diseases at the Institut Català del Clima. With a Ramón y Cajal position, he founded the ICREA-Movement Ecology Laboratory, focused on animal movement (including humans) and computational ecology.
