GOAL:

Build a database of flooding events from citizen observations.

Crisis mapping also includes plotting where a disaster happens, and our friends in the UK have a campaign to improve knowledge about flooding. FloodCrowd uses the power of citizen observation to report where floods occur, no matter how big or small. If you’re planning a trip to the UK, share your amazing flood photos (if you’re lucky or unlucky enough to experience bad weather!) with your friends AND researchers! All observations go towards improving flood management and understanding through the creation of a huge database of flooding events. Your observation gets put on a map, and included in a citizen science study that may be peer reviewed!
