Scott Eustis
BIO

Born and raised in New Orleans, Scott Eustis is the Coastal Wetlands Specialist for the Gulf Restoration Network in his home city. Now over 20 years old, The Gulf Restoration Network is comprised of environmentalists who advocate for clean water, healthy wetlands and sustainable fisheries for the Gulf Region. Scott received a BSc in Ecology and a BS in English from the University of Georgia, and went on to obtain an MSc in Environmental Science from the University of New Orleans. While studying ecology, he learned about the value of the Mississippi River Delta and decided to educate people in the ways our lives impact the natural world. By using Public Lab tools, Scott’s nonprofit organization is able to study wetland health in the wake of the BP oil spill, and enable environmental advocates to ensure private companies are following the laws of the Clean Water Act. He believes Public Lab empowers citizens to document environmental impacts for themselves, so they can disseminate critical information without it first passing through the filters of government and private enterprises.
